Research showed patients are 91% more likely to change their lenses within the recommended period when reminded *. Reusable contact lens wearers can sign-up to receive free reminders via text or e-mail in order to keep track of all their contact lens needs, by logging on to the ACUVUE® website.
The online service sends reminders to contact lens patients when they need to replace their lenses, purchase new ones, or schedule an eye examination, making it even easier for patients to improve their contact lens compliance.
David Ruston, Professional Affairs Director, Western Region at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care comments, “Although past research in the UK has shown that wearers of monthly and two-weekly replacement lenses have equal states of compliance , it can always be improved. This great service aims to make wearing reusable contact lenses as simple as possible by helping patients remember when they need to change their lenses or schedule an appointment. It’s just another way that practitioners can encourage their patients to take a more personal role in looking after their own eye health – for free. This new research helps to prove that.”
With separate research showing that only 2% of contact lens wearers are fully compliant with their contact lens wear and care regime, but 78% acknowledging that it is important to replace lenses on schedule, the ACUMINDER™ tool will prove extremely beneficial to patients.
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care are dedicated to helping practitioners encourage contact lens compliance and in order to support this ACUMINDER™ service, a range of patient materials will also be available.
If your patients are interested, they can sign up for ACUMINDER™ at www.acuminder.co.uk.
