London, 5 January 2015: ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses teamed up with popular TV talent show, The X Factor 2014, to give hopefuls around the UK and Ireland the chance to win exclusive tickets to The X Factor Live Studio Semi-Final by entering the competition through their local opticians.

10 lucky winners were given two VIP studio tickets, alongside five-star treatment at a top London hotel. According to one lucky winner, Stephen Holdway from Dorset, the show was “A once in a lifetime experience.”

Stephen entered the competition through his local optician practice, Matthews Opticians in Sherbourne, which supported ACUVUE® competition during November.

During four days of The X Factor auditions at the SSE Arena, Wembley, thousands of X Factor fans had the chance to have their very own ‘ACUVUE® Contact Lens Audition’, hosted exclusively by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Companies. The unique audition booth targeted young contact lens considerers who were given the opportunity for a one-on-one consultation with an ACUVUE® Professional Affairs Consultant, giving them the amazing experience of seeing the world through an ACUVUE® contact lens for the first time. 

 Lucky winner Stephen Holdway said: “The X Factor Semi-Final was incredible. I’m in the acoustic duo Rough Diamondz, and it was great to see it filmed live and see behind the scenes. Since winning his X Factor prize Stephen, a current glasses wearer, is now undergoing an ACUVUE® Contact Lens trial.

Those who visited the ‘ACUVUE® Contact Lens Auditions’ booth during The X Factor judge’s auditions, received a free ACUVUE® trial voucher redeemable at their local opticians. The event aimed to encourage young people and contact lens considerers to visit their local practices and become an ACUVUE® wearer.
